The word Dussehra comes from Sanskrit words "dasha" and "Hara" that means "ten" and "defeat" severally. Dussehra is celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Ashvin, that falls within the months of Sept or Oct. Dussehra marks the end of Durga Puja, wherever immortal Durga defeated demon Mahishasur to assist restore Dharma. Alongside, the festival also marks the Victory of Lord avatar against Ravana.
