Baazaar is predicted to wrap the week with almost Rs. 16 crores
Saif Ali Khan's stock market thriller Baazaar hit screens last Fri and is inching nearer to Rs. 14 crores since it entered the weekdays. Baazaar, that made around Rs. 1.5 crores on Mon, added Rs. 1.35 crore to the collections, reported Box office India. In 5 days, Baazaar has scored over Rs. 13 crores and is predicted to wrap the week with almost Rs. 16 crores: "Baazaar continued with poor business on Tues and is heading for the first week of 15.75 crore nett," said the Box Office India report. Bazaar is Gaurav K Chawla's first directorial venture and also stars debutant Rohan Mehra and Chitrangada Singh.
Earlier on Tuesday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said Baazaar can still run in theatres until Thugs Of Hindostan opens on November 7, that is another week from now. "Mumbai circuit continues to lead and will be driving its biz until Thugs Of Hindostan arrives in Diwali," wrote Mr. Adarsh.
Saif Ali Khan, who plays the role of a shrewd businessman in Baazaar, recently told news agency IANS that he is glad he might with success accomplish a "challenging" role: "My role in Baazaar was challenging for many reasons. Apart for exploring a subject centered around the stock market, that hasn't been done before, my character was also very layered with shades of gray. it was a risk and I am glad it paid off."
